The summer camp "Classical music experience in Hungary" has ended successfully. The summer camp took place from June 25 to July 6, 2018, in Simontornya - the ancient city of Hungary.
Dr. Phan Bich Thien - President of Foundation for Hungarian - Vietnamese Relations, who connected the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music with Hungarian piano instructors, who are teaching at professional music schools, organized this summer camp. This is a great opportunity for children learning the piano in Ho Chi Minh City to meet and practice their skills in Hungary - one of the European countries with famous musicians in the world.
The opening ceremony of the summer camp took place on June 27 with the attendance of the Mayor of Simontornya, Dr. Phan Bich Thien - Head of the organization committee, Mr. Ta Quang Dong - Director of Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, especially students, the parents and the residents of Simontornya city. In her speech at the opening ceremony, the Mayor said that that was a very meaningful activity for the ancient Simontornya city, an opportunity for people here to know more about the culture of Vietnam. Director of Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music said that this is a good opportunity for children to be exposed to Hungarian music with a long tradition.
During the 10-day summer camp, in addition to the piano classes, the participants visited the cultural sites of Simontornya and Budapest with famous landmarks like Andrassy Avenue, Heroes' Square, Hungarian Parliament, experienced boat on the Danuyp River with shimmering lights shining down the romantic river. In addition, the students and parents had one day to visit Lake Balaton, which is the largest lake in Central Europe, participated in the Lavender Festival held once a year in Tihany, and experienced the short ferry between the two banks of Lake Balaton. Moreover, the participants also visited the beautiful and famous sites of Vienna, the Austrian capital such as the Schönburg Palace with the famous royal garden, St. Stephen's Basilica, the central walking street, the Mozart concert. Besides, the parents and students experienced Hévíz mineral water bath, one of the most famous places in Hungary, rich in minerals, effective in the treatment of skin diseases and diseases related to the nervous system.
2018 summer camp is the first summer camp for the Vietnamese community held in Hungary. The summer camp opens a movement as an annual activity for people in Vietnam who wish to interact with European culture. The camp is closed with the joys, experiences, useful knowledge that the participants learned during the summer camp. These will equip them to take a firm step on the path of development.
